Children's of Mississippi at UMMC is pleased to offer an ACGME-approved fellowship program in Pediatric Anesthesiology. We accept two fellows per academic year.
Our pediatric anesthesia fellow will benefit from highly individualized teaching, first pick of our index cases, ample experience in the pediatric operating rooms as well as pediatric pain management, and supportive teaching faculty.
Children's of Mississippi, Mississippi's only pediatric hospital, is located on and fully integrated into the UMMC campus. We are Mississippi's only pediatric Level 1 trauma center, transplant center and congenital heart disease center. Our pediatric ORs perform over 10,000 cases per year, and cover a full range of pathophysiology and surgical specialties. Our fellow can expect to encounter complex pediatric disease, rare syndromes and challenging surgical cases on a daily basis.
The Pediatric Anesthesia department covers twelve pediatric ORs in addition to MRI, CT, IR and pediatric cath lab. Our pediatric OR suite is located in the Children's Hospital and is staffed only by pediatric specialists - anesthesiologists, surgeons and nurses. Our pediatric cardiac OR and pedi cath lab have full schedules every day.
